Intel Corp. is in talks to buy GlobalFoundries Inc., people familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal.
The proposed deal values semiconductor manufacturer GlobalFoundries at roughly $30 billion.
Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger in March said the company had plans to become a chip manufacturer for others.
