An American Gaming Association survey found U.S. residents are expected to wager $6 billion on the Super Bowl this year.
The survey found 52 percent of some 22.7 million adults are betting on the Los Angeles Rams, with the remainder placing bets on the New England Patriots.
“More Americans than ever before will be able to place their bets with legal sportsbooks now operating in eight states, generating valuable revenue for state, local and tribal governments and increasing fan engagement with the game,” Bill Miller, the trade group’s president and CEO, said in a statement.
