Report: GM shares could rise 35% if it sells Opel

General Motors shares could rise as much as 35 percent if succeeds in selling off its European Opel brand and focuses on its healthier markets, according to a Barron's report.

GM last week said it was in talks to sell Opel to Paris-based PSA Group.

The Opel unit cost GM $257 million last year.
