Frontier Airlines is considering a renewed bid for Spirit Airlines, people familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal.
Shares of both companies were up in premarket trade on the report.
Spirit neared a merger deal with Frontier in 2022, according to reporting by CNBC. However, that deal was terminated when JetBlue Airways won the bidding war for Spirit. JetBlue's Spirit deal was blocked this year by the U.S. Department of Justice.
