Equifax reportedly had a patch to fix vulnerabilities two months before the recent hack of its system. The Apache Foundation claims the company didn't use the patch as advised.
"The Equifax data compromise was due to (Equifax's) failure to install the security updates provided in a timely manner," Apache Foundation officials said.
Equifax officials previously said hackers exploided an Apache website application vulnerability.
