The CEOs of Chevron Corp. and Exxon Mobil Corp. last year spoke about a potential merger, people familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal.
The sources said talks currently aren't ongoing but could return in the future.
If the two companies were to combine, the merged entity could have a market value topping $350 billion.
