Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd. is planning a new, increased purchase offer for Kansas City Southern, sources familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal.
Such an offer would reignite a takeover battle with Canadian National Railway Co., which reached a deal with Kansas City Southern in May.
Canadian Pacific’s new offer would value Kansas City Southern at $27 billion, the sources said.
