Amazon.com Inc. plans to open several large physical retail stores that will be akin to department stores, people familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal.
The first of the 30,000-square-foot retail stores are slated to launch in Ohio and California, the sources said.
Amazon's private-label goods reportedly are among the items that will be featured prominently in the stores.
