Report: Amazon, Simon in talks for mall spaces

Amazon is reportedly in talks to take over space left vacant by department stores at malls operated by Simon Property Group Inc., people familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal.

The e-commerce giant may turn vacant JCPenney and Sears stores into fulfillment centers.

Fulfillment centers store books, sweaters, kitchenware, electronics and other items.
