Missouri's Rapid Response Team is coming to the rescue of about 60 individuals who recently became unemployed when Remington's at 1655 W. Republic Road closed.
The Rapid Response Team serves the needs of dislocated workers by providing free training and reemployment services, according to a news release from the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
Remington's workers who need assistance can attend a community meeting at 9 a.m. Aug. 11 in the Dogwood Room at Missouri Career Center, 1514 S. Glenstone.
Rapid Response Team members are representatives from the DED's Division of Workforce Development, the Division of Employment Security, the Ozark Region Workforce Investment Board and the Missouri Career Center.
The team's free services include assessment and testing, career counseling, resume writing, interviewing skills, job search methods, on-the-job training and tuition assistance for vocational training or education.
More than 100,000 workers have participated in the program since its beginning in 1983. About 80 percent of people assisted find new employment.
