Remington Arms Co. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on Sunday.
The oldest U.S. gun manufacturer made the filing amid slumping sales and calls for stricter weapon laws.
Remington plans to continue its operations during the bankruptcy process.
In the filing, the company listed assets between $500 million and $1 billion and liabilities in the $500 million to $1 billion range.
