Regions, U.S. Bancorp recognized as top consumer banks
New York research firm Taylor Nelson Sofres selected Alabama-based Regions Financial Corp. and Minneapolis-based U.S. Bancorp among its 2011 TNS Choice Award winners. Both holding companies have full-service banks in Springfield.
The firm picked both national and regional winners.
Regions was one of the three to garner national recognition and also was selected in the Central Region achievement category, along with U.S. Bancorp. Three winners were selected in each regional category: West, Central and East. U.S. Bancorp also was selected in the West category.
Financial institutions are chosen based on their ability to attract new customers, to satisfy and retain current customers and to gain a larger share of their customers' total banking business, according to a TNS news release.
"Consumer banking success is a function of many factors including value offered, convenience provided, reputation, clarity of advertising and quality of products,” Bob Neuhaus, sector head of financial services for TNS Global, said in the release. “The interplay of these factors influence consumer choices and distinguish the winners in the competitive marketplace."
