Regions to lay off 260 in first quarter

Regions Financial Corp. (NYSE: RF) plans to eliminate 260 jobs across its 16-state footprint in the first quarter.

The cuts amount to just over 1 percent of its workforce of 24,000.

Company officials said the cuts would comprise a variety of positions and markets.
