Regional president for Central Bank takes job in Alabama

Scott McDonald, Central Bank of the Ozarks' community president in Christian County, exited his role.

McDonald is taking a job at a community bank in Alabama, according to a news release provided to Springfield Business Journal. Officials cited McDonald's desire to be closer to his daughters who are attending college in the state. The bank in Alabama was not named in the release, and officials could not be reached for comment by deadline to provide it.

“Scott has been a tremendous leader for our bank and we are a better bank because of his involvement in the Nixa area," said Russ Marquart, CEO and president of Central Bank of the Ozarks, in the release. "As an integral part of our Central Bank family, we wish him and his family all the best."

Jamie Clark, Central Bank's Webster County community president since 2007, was promoted to also oversee McDonald's Christian County role. McDonald led the Christian County market since 2007.

McDonald last week was honored among SBJ's 2020 class of Trusted Advisers. A banker with more than 20 years of experience, McDonald managed a $54 million loan portfolio for over 250 clients with Central Bank. The market he previously led incorporates five Central Bank branches in Nixa, Ozark and Highlandville, and its deposits have grown nearly 10% since 2017 to $193 million in 2019.

He also was a member of the Nixa Public Schools Board of Education. The district recently announced McDonald submitted his resignation to the board during its Sept. 10 meeting. First elected to the board in 2008, he was elected as its president in 2010, according to a separate news release.

The board will accept applications for the open position through noon Sept. 25.
