Redbox owner Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment has filed for bankruptcy.
CSSE has nearly $1 billion in debt. It purchased Redbox in 2022 from private equity giant Apollo Global Management.
The company’s publishing arm, known for its ubiquitous self-help books, is not impacted by the bankruptcy filing of its entertainment unit.
