Red Sox manager out over sign-stealing scandals

Posted online

Boston Red Sox Manager Alex Cora was ousted over two sign-stealing schemes.

Cora allegedly was involved in schemes that focused on using video to decode opponents' sign sequences. Information would be passed to players at the plate, letting them know what kind of pitch would be thrown.

He's accused of schemes both at the Red Sox and when he was bench coach of the Houston Astros. He helped lead both teams to World Series wins.

The Astros also fired Manager AJ Hinch and General Manager Jeff Luhnow.
