The Boston Red Sox yesterday fired David Dombrowski, the team's president of baseball operations.
After helping to lead the Red Sox to three consecutive American League East titles, Dombrowski has taken the fall this season for the team likely failing to reach the playoffs.
His firing came minutes after the team's 10-5 loss to the New York Yankees on Sunday night.
