Recreational marijuana tax revenue passes $100 million in Illinois

Since  Illinois has legalized the sale of recreational marijuana on Jan. 1, the state has collected more than $100 million in  tax revenue.

The sum reflects a growing industry as dispensaries continue to open across Illinois. By comparison, adult-use cannabis tax revenue topped $20 million in September, rivaling the state’s liquor tax revenue for the month.
