Katie Baker, owner of The Gracious Plate, says the biggest challenge for a new business is making sure the money you have coming in covers your expenses. While renting a kitchen lessened expenses and made her startup possible, Baker says there are many financial challenges for a new business owner. “I want to provide the best meal to them, but it still needs to make sense monetarily for my business,” Baker says.
