'Rattle and Hum'

Posted online
David Miller, an architect and vice president with Cannon Design in St. Louis specializing in arena and stadium design, spoke at the Missouri State University Breakfast with Champions on April 11 at University Plaza. He is receiving a plaque from Ron Bottin, dean of MSU’s College of Business Administration.

Addressing a group of about 75, including MSU entertainment management students, Miller gave advice for building new arenas like the proposed JQH Arena on the MSU campus. The most important elements: intimacy and intimidation. “The building has to rattle and hum,” Miller said. He added that the $25 million donation from John Q. Hammons toward the arena is well above the market value for arena naming rights. [[In-content Ad]]
