Rare Jaguar, Shelby Cobra set auction records

Two classic and rare vehicles set new records for the most expensive American- and British-made cars ever sold at an auction.

The Jaguar D-Type race car brought in $21.8 million, while the first Shelby Cobra ever made was sold for $13.8 million.

The cars were sold Friday at an RM Sotheby's auction event in Monterey, Calif.
