Rapid Roberts adds first Nixa store

Posted online
Springfield-based Rapid Roberts Inc. is integrating the former Nixa Convenience Center into its chain after acquiring the store in September.

Rapid Roberts purchased the store, 615 W. Mount Vernon St. in Nixa, Sept. 18 for an undisclosed price from Terry and Michelle Stone, according to Rapid Roberts owner Rob Wilson.

The store will remain open while renovations continue throughout the winter, Wilson said. Completion is set for spring.

This is the first foray into Nixa for Rapid Roberts, a move Wilson had been anticipating because of its proximity to Springfield.

“It kind of fills in the gaps for us,” he said, adding that he plans to open a second Nixa store at an undisclosed location in the near future.

The store will nearly double in size to about 3,000 square feet and will be brought under the Rapid Roberts design seen at the chain’s 22 other Ozarks convenience stores. The company’s traditional red-and-black color scheme will be incorporated, lighting will be enhanced and interior shelving will be customized.

The station has four gasoline pumps and one diesel pump and also offers kerosene.

Rapid Roberts also will be rebuilding some of its existing stores in Branson next year.[[In-content Ad]]
