Rams file official relocation request with NFL

The St. Louis Rams may soon be relocating to the Los Angeles market ­­– just in time for the 2016 NFL season.

The team – along with the Oakland Raiders and the San Diego Chargers – filed relocation requests with the league ON Monday. Next week, key owners will vote to determine which teams will make the move following a recommendation from league staff and committees.

The task force that proposed a $1.1 billion stadium to keep the Rams in St. Louis said the team’s request has been expected for more than a year, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.
