Posted online
The Associated Press reports rain cut into the number of days Missouri farmers could work their fields last week, meaning the corn and soybean harvests are behind schedule.

According to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, there were 3.5 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ended Sunday.

That leaves corn harvests 58 percent complete, about 17 percent below the five-year average. The NASS also said the soybean harvest is 25 percent complete, about 9 percent below last year and 21 points behind the five-year average.
