RadioShack prepares bankruptcy filing

RadioShack Corp. is preparing to file for bankruptcy protection as early as next month, people familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal.

The struggling Fort Worth, Texas-based electronics retailer could file as soon as February, according to the sources.

RadioShack also is in talks with a private equity firm that could purchase some of its assets out of bankruptcy.

The company posted losses in each of the last 11 quarters.
