University of Missouri head basketball coach Quin Snyder will be the keynote speaker at the 2002 College Basketball Tip-Off Luncheon, which will begin at 11 a.m. Oct. 9 at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, 3861 E. Stan Musial Dr. |ret||ret||tab|
During the event, a life-sized bronze statue of Jackie Styles, former Southwest Missouri State University Lady Bears All-American and a 2002 Hall of Fame inductee, will be unveiled. |ret||ret||tab|
According to an announcement from the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, the statue is being designed by sculptor Harry Weber of Bowling Green. It will rest permanently on the east lawn of the Hall of Fame near the existing Legends Walk and Payne Stewart Memorial Bronze. |ret||ret||tab|
Also during the luncheon event, Hall of Fame founder and 2002 Missouri Sports Legend John Q. Hammons will be honored with the local release of his biography, "They Call Him John Q. A Hotel Legend."|ret||ret||tab|
