Queen City home prices climb in March

Posted online
Real estate market tracker CoreLogic reports increased home prices in March across the Queen City.

During the month, prices, including distressed sales, rose 5.7 percent compared to March 2014. Excluding distressed sales - which comprise short sales and real estate owned transactions - Springfield prices during the month increased 4.5 percent, according to a news release.

Missouri’s March home prices, including distressed sales, rose 6.1 percent year to year, while prices without distressed sales moved up 4.8 percent. U.S. prices were up 5.9 percent, including distressed sales, and 6.1 percent, excluding them.

“Tight inventories, job growth and the inexorable impact of demographics and household formation are pushing price levels in many states,” said Anand Nallathambi, president and CEO of CoreLogic, in the release. “All signs are pointing toward continued price appreciation throughout 2015.”
