The Springfield foreclosure rate dropped 0.17 percentage points in September, compared to the same month a year earlier.
During the month, the percentage of mortgage loans in some stage of the foreclosure process was 0.49 percent, down from 0.66 percent in September 2013, according to a news release from real estate market tracker CoreLogic.
In 2014, the Springfield foreclosure rate has fallen from a high of 0.87 percent in January to a low of 0.45 percent in July. The August foreclosure rate matched the activity in September.
The Missouri foreclosure rate moved down to 0.68 percent in September from 0.87 percent a year earlier, while the U.S. rate decreased to 1.6 percent from 2.33 percent, according to the release.
In Springfield, the September mortgage delinquency rate - a precursor of foreclosures representing mortgage loans delinquent by at least 90 days - was 2.16 percent, down from 2.51 percent a year earlier. The Missouri rate moved to 3.08 percent from 3.5 percent, and the U.S. rate decreased to 4.22 percent from 5.24 percent, CoreLogic reports.
