The Springfield foreclosure rate declined to 0.47 percent of outstanding mortgage loans in February, according to data released today by real estate market tracker CoreLogic.
That’s down from 0.52 percent in the same month of 2014, according to a news release.
Springfield’s February rate also was below Missouri’s 0.63 percent foreclosure rate and the nation’s 1.94 percent figure. Compared to the same month last year, the Missouri rate dropped by 0.08 percentage points, and the U.S. rate moved down 0.51 percentage points.
A heat map provided by CoreLogic shows much of Greene County had a low foreclosure rate - below 0.8 percent - in February. Areas in the north and northwest part of the county had moderate foreclosure rates of 1.3 percent to 2 percent, while a swath of western Greene County had a high rate of over 2.8 percent.

The Queen City’s mortgage delinquency rate - a precursor of foreclosures measuring loans at least 90 days delinquent - dropped to 1.9 percent in February from 2.3 percent a year earlier. Missouri decreased to 2.9 percent, and the U.S. delinquency rate was down to 3.9 percent, according to CoreLogic.
