O'Reilly Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: ORLY) reported a dip in profits to start the year.
The Springfield-based auto parts retailer recorded first-quarter net income of $538.5 million, a 1.6% decrease from $547.2 million a year earlier, according to a news release. Diluted share earnings, however, were up to $9.35 from $9.20 per share year over year.
Revenue during the quarter came to $4.1 billion, a roughly 4% increase.
"We are pleased to report a solid start to 2025, highlighted by a 3.6% comparable store sales increase, which was at the high end of our expectations for the quarter," O'Reilly Automotive CEO Brad Beckham said in the release. "The changing tariff landscape brings with it a high degree of uncertainty, and the fluid nature of the implementation of tariff adjustments makes it difficult for us to predict the impact to our business and our customers. What we know for certain is that our team remains absolutely dedicated to providing the highest levels of customer service and best-in-class parts availability, regardless of external market conditions."
As of March 31, O'Reilly Automotive's assets were $15.3 billion. The company had 6,416 stores at the end of the quarter.
ORLY stock was trading at $1,350 as of 9:30 a.m., compared with a 52-week range of $947.49 to $1,458.37 per share.
