Qatar hires Bush attorney general for 'crisis response'

The government of Qatar hired John Ashcroft as an adviser for international counter-terrorism finance laws.

The former U.S. attorney general under President George W. Bush, Ashcroft has been tapped for the role amid a diplomatic crisis.

Qatar was ostracized by countries including Saudi Arabia and the Untied Arab Emirates for alleged support of terrorism.
