Pyramid Foods changing flag at north-side store

Rogersville-based Pyramid Foods is transitioning a north-side Price Cutter store to another of its brands.

A Friday opening is scheduled for the King Food Saver at 1831 W. Kearney St. after the location transitions this week, said Rob Marsh, chief operating officer for Pyramid Foods. He declined to disclose expenses related to the change.

"We have been listening to the customer base seeking to lower their food bill without sacrificing quality," Marsh said via email. "Our team has been working hard with our suppliers and vendor partners to get this accomplished, and I am very confident that once the consumers shop at this new location, they will be very pleased."

King Food Saver sells grocery products at cost, with 10% added at checkout, according to its website. Produce, meat and seafood are among items sold.

Price Cutter has operated at the West Kearney Street property since 2015, when Pyramid Foods launched the store at a former Dillons location, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.

The more than 58,000-square-foot property is owned by 1831 W Kearney LLC, according to the Greene County assessor. That LLC is registered with the Missouri secretary of state's office by real estate businessperson Curtis Jared.
