Accounting and consulting firm PwC has quietly scrapped a five-year goal of hiring 100,000 workers, according to the Financial Times.
The pledge was made in 2021.
For the 12-month period that ended June 30, PwC cut staff numbers by 5,600. That puts the company's headcount below 365,000.
