OxyContin maker Purdue Pharma was dissolved on Wednesday.
The dissolution is part of a $4.5 billion settlement approved by Judge Robert Drain of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in White Plains, New York.
The settlement shields the Sackler family behind Purdue Pharma. They will remain among the richest families in the country.
