Public outdoor pools open Saturday

Posted online
Local temperatures could be in the 90s this weekend – and the city has a way to beat the heat.

All Springfield-Greene County Park Board outdoor pools will open for the season at 1 p.m. Saturday and begin their normal Tuesday–Sunday hours.

Pools are located at Doling, Fassnight, Grant Beach, Meador, Silver Springs and Westport parks. Phelps Grove Park has a wading pool.

Doling, Fassnight and Meador Park pools also will hold special hours from 1–6:30 p.m. Memorial Day for their annual Splash ‘n Sizzle event. Admission is free with a canned food donation, and all collections will go to Ozarks Food Harvest.

Admission fees are $2 for children ages 3 to 17, $2.50 for adults and $2 for seniors ages 65 and older. Children 2 and under are free with adult paid admission.

Coupon books and summer pool passes also are available.[[In-content Ad]]
