Nixa Parks and Recreation is hosting the forum 7–8:30 p.m. at the Community Center, 701 N. Taylor Way.
The Parks Master Plan Committee will gather input from citizens about their vision for the city’s parks and use that to create a random sample survey for Nixa residents. Responses to the survey will help guide the committee in making a long-range plan.
“We want folks from the community to come and voice their opinions about what they’d like to see in the future – are they looking for an indoor pool or to acquire more park space?” said Joanna Schroeder, administrative assistant for the department. “The committee will figure that into our master plan.”
Schroeder said the city’s growth is fueling park expansion.
“As a whole, comparably per acre, we’re really shy of what other communities our size have, and the concern is acquiring park space so that we do have room to grow in the future,” she said.
