Proposition B
It would increase Missouri's general sales tax by an additional one-half cent and add a 4-cent-per-gallon motor fuel tax for highways, roads, bridges and public transportation. The taxes would generate annual revenues of approximately $483 million $431 million state, $52 million local.
If passed on the Aug. 6 ballot, the taxes would become effective Jan. 1, 2003, and expire June 30, 2013.
