Proposed road projects up for public review

Posted online
Four proposed transportation projects in the Ozarks are up for public review through Dec. 17.

The Ozarks Transportation Organization is holding a public comment period on proposed amendments to the 2009-2012 Transportation Improvement Plan. Projects must be included in the plan to receive federal funds.

The amendments propose:

• Improving the U.S. Highway 160/Jackson Street intersection in Willard;

• Adding median guard cables on U.S. Highway 65, from Interstate 44 to U.S. Highway 60 in Springfield;

• Making improvements to Cheyenne Road in Nixa; and

• Changing the boundary of the Highway CC project to design future roadway improvements, to include CC from the Highway NN/Pheasant Road intersection to Main Street in Nixa.

The projects are available for review at the OTO office, 117 Park Central Square, Ste. 107. Comments can be sent to that address, e-mailed to sedwards@ozarkstransportation.org or faxed to (417) 862-6013.

Comments also can be made at the Metropolitan Planning Organization's board meeting, noon-1 p.m. Dec. 17 at the Busch Municipal Building, 840 Boonville Ave. The board will vote on the amendments at that time.[[In-content Ad]]
