Proposal would rework former Joplin library building

A multiuse project is in the works for a former Joplin Public Library building.

The Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce, Missouri Southern State University and the city plan to use the building for joint programs. For example, MSSU intends to relocate its Small Business Development Center to the building.

Officials said $10 million in renovations would be required.
