Hawker Power Systems, the world's largest manufacturer of industrial batteries with sales in excess of $1 billion, is building a 116,000-square-foot facility at the Partnership Industrial Center. The manufacturing plant itself will comprise 100,000 square feet, with 16,000 square feet devoted to office space. The $27 million facility will employ up to 185 and produce nearly 350,000 batteries a year when fully operational. Walton Construction is the contractor on the project, and the architect is Sapp Design Associates.
