Jana Funk of Hood-Rich is the project architect for this addition, which will add 6,900 square feet to the existing 7,500-square-foot First Church of God building. The addition is to be completed this spring. A large multipurpose room that is included in the addition will function as a worship center, a fellowship hall and recreation area. A full kitchen next to the multipurpose room, lobby space, storage and restrooms make up the rest of the addition. A drive-under canopy will be located on the north side of the building. The exterior will be of brick veneer with accents of a fiber cement pre-finished siding. Four dormers cover large windows on the north and south sides of the building, flooding the multipurpose room with natural light. Roofing material is composition asphalt shingles to match the existing building. A future project will renovate the existing classroom building and convert the existing sanctuary into classroom and office space.
