Production facility catches fire at National Enzyme Co.

National Enzyme Co. is facing a fire-damaged property for the second time in as many years.

Firefighters responded last night to a commercial structure fire on Highway 76 in Forsyth. All personnel were accounted for and no injuries were reported, according to a Facebook post by the Central Taney County Fire Protection District.

Jennifer Brown, a spokeswoman for the producer of custom enzyme formulas, such as dietary supplements for humans and animals, said this morning fire officials were still on site accessing the damage. Brown was unsure how badly the building was damaged or what caused the fire in a portion of the company’s production facility.

National Enzyme’s headquarters are split into two campuses.

The other, on Highway 160 in Forsyth, was the site of a February 2015 fire that severely damaged an office building.

The company held a ribbon-cutting ceremony in December for a replacement facility, a 3,200-square-foot expansion to an existing building that held information and technology offices.
