Procter & Gamble to break ground on only 2nd US plant since 1971

Procter & Gamble plans to break ground today on a $500 million West Virginia manufacturing hub, a project expected to create hundreds of jobs as one of the largest economic development projects in the state's history.

The plant, which is expected to open in 2017, would be only the second plant built by Procter & Gamble in the U.S. since 1971.

Company officials say the plant would employ 700 when it opens.
