Private employers add 204,000 jobs in August

The private sector turned in another month of solid employment growth in August, a top payroll processor said Thursday, adding 204,000 jobs and possibly heralding further strong job gains in the government's report due Friday.

ADP LLC was previously estimated to report 215,000 new private sector jobs, according to uSA Today.

The Labor Department's jobs report scheduled Friday could show 220,000 job additions by businesses, as well as federal, state and local governments.
