Prince label sues Jay Z's Tidal over streaming rights

Prince’s label NPG Records and his estate are suing Jay Z’s management firm Roc Nation over streaming rights via the the Tidal service.

Tidal negotiated exclusive streaming rights to Prince’s music in 2015. Prince's estate now is claiming Tidal is “is exploiting many copyrighted Prince works” and may have breached exclusivity agreements and copyright.

Prince’s estate and record label are seeking an unknown amount of damages and an injunction prohibiting Tidal from streaming Prince’s back catalogue.
