Presidential fundraising passes $1B mark

Fundraising for this year's presidential election has surged past the $1 billion mark.

According to USA Today, the largest donors are wealthy Americans bankrolling super PACs.

By this point in the 2012 election, fundraising had hit $402.7 million.
