The president of Kansas City-area private college Park University is exiting for a job in Utah.
Shane Smeed accepted the role of president at Utah Tech University. He's worked at Park University since 2015, first as chief operating officer.
The Utah Tech job previously was held by Richard “Biff” Williams, who now is president of Missouri State University. Williams was accused in a Nov. 7 lawsuit with other defendants of creating a hostile and retaliatory work environment and violating Title IX protections at Utah Tech, according to past reporting.
