Powerball winner picked numbers from fortune cookie

The winner of a nearly $345 million Powerball jackpot chose his numbers from a fortune cookie.

Charles Jackson Jr., a 66-year-old retired store owner in North Carolina, said the winning lottery numbers were on the back of a piece of paper in a fortune cookie from a Vietnamese restaurant.

“You play to win, but you never really expect to win the whole dang pot,” Jackson said.
