Jerome Powell said Wednesday that he plans to remain on the Federal Reserve board after his term as chair ends next month.
He said he would remain on the Fed “for a period of time, to be determined."
Powell's decision marks the first time a Fed chair will remain on the board as a governor since 1948, The Associated Press reports.
