Postal traffic to the United States has dropped considerably after the end of a "de minimis" trade exemption that allowed small packages worth less than $800 to be exempt from tariffs.
Traffic fell by more than 80% on Aug. 29, the day the exemption ended.
The Trump administration has said the suspension of the de minimis rule is designed to crack down on criminal activity such as counterfeit products and fentanyl.
